Use Activity Logs to Investigate Business Changes

Activity logs help authorized users understand who performed an action and when. Use them with the original record rather than treating one log entry as the complete business story.

Start with a Specific Question

Write down the establishment, affected record, approximate time, and action you are investigating. Examples include a product price change, permission change, refund, or stock correction.

Review the Logs

1. Open Dashboard > Activity Logs with a role allowed to view them.

2. Confirm the active establishment and choose a narrow date range.

3. Apply the available user, action, or record filters.

4. Open relevant entries and compare the details with the affected record.

5. Widen the date range if the action may have occurred near midnight or in another reporting period.

Compare Supporting Records

Check orders and refund details for sales issues, stock movements for inventory issues, and the employee's current role for access issues. Current settings may differ from the settings that applied when a past transaction was created.

Export and Share Carefully

Use the export action where your permissions allow it. Keep the relevant time range and record references, and share only with the people investigating the issue. Do not include passwords, PINs, or full card details in tickets.

If You Cannot Find the Change

Check the selected branch, filters, timezone, and whether the action was actually saved. A missing entry does not prove an action never happened. Ask support with the record reference and timeframe if the issue remains unresolved.
