Security Best Practices

Security in Mintcom combines secure authentication, permissions, careful staff setup, and good operating habits.

Account Security

- Use strong passwords for owner and admin accounts.

- Never share owner credentials or employee POS PINs.

- Remove access immediately when an employee leaves.

- Keep email access secure because password reset uses email-based flows.

Permission Security

- Give each role only the access it needs.

- Restrict refunds, tax changes, discounts, export data, billing, and settings to trusted users.

- Review activity logs for sensitive changes.

Device Security

- Lock tablets when unattended.

- Sign out of shared computers.

- Keep operating systems, browsers, and the POS app updated.
